Statement
My current work incorporates acrylics, pastels, gold leaf, metal powders and silk tissue on paper and canvas. This process involves freedom and discipline working together to allow the spirit to function. The greatest joy comes when a painting takes on its own wings. In a fleeting moment it moves outside my control; I become a conduit. My desire is to be open to sensations and to express these visually, with spontaneity and confidence. The images are quickly absorbed, what remains is the living "being" of a work of art. For me, color is not color until it arrives at a degree of resonance which can be heard. My way is intuitive; life furnishes the raw materials with all it's chaotic profusion. When the viewer connects with my work I feel a deep sense of completion.
